The Fly Fishing Forum - The Best Fly Fishing News and Information focused on North America: Casting from the Shore CD - the review Casting from the Shore CD - the review ================================================================================ Frank Whiton on 19/02/2010 11:53:00 As I sit here writing this I am listening to a new music album on CD about fishing by Gary Arlyn Morse and his Scaled Back Band. The album is called Casting from the Shore and would make great listening while tying flies or working on your gear. A copy in the truck would get you tapping your fingers on the wheel and definitely in the mood for fishing as you travel to your favorite spot. The band has a good sound and the harmonica work by Jeff O’Neill on the Woolley Booger Blues is particularly outstanding. This track has a nice beat and was my favorite of the album. The Day the Dipper Died, another track from the album reminds me of a Beatles sound which is sure to appeal to many as well. The album is about fishing and the songs are by Gary Arlyn Morse who is well known as a musician and fly-fisherman. The music is varied and covers blues, folk, jazz and rock. This is not an album just for fishermen only. The ladies and non-fishing music lovers will also like the sound. Those in Colorado will know Gary from his two years as the fishing columnist for the Colorado Springs Gazette. Gary also entertains at various fishing venues around the state and is active in Trout Unlimited and the Pikes Peak Fly Fishers club. He has combined his loves of fishing and music in Casting from the Shore. BUY The new CD sells for just $16 and includes free shipping. Please click here to order the CD from Scaledback.com. LISTEN You can also hear a sample of the album on Gary’s My Space site by clicking here. Casting from the Shore is a unique album and many fly fishers will find it amusing and enjoyable. Frank Whiton
