Default Re: Guides for 9' 4wt

Your replies made me take a double take.

I bought a Titanium Guide kit from Hook & Hackle that said it was for a 9'-9'6" rod. Plus Tip Top. So the tenth guide must be for if I had a 9'6"4wt?

My blank is a 9' 4wt I have an extra guide to use on the next rod I build.

Is my understanding correct that you are supposed to have one guide for every foot of blank length plus Tip Top?

I planed to use 9 guides + 1 Tip Top:

2 stripping guides: One size 12 & One size 10

7 Snake guides: Two size 3, Three size 2, Two size 1

1 Tip Top.

I didn't realize until now that Hook & Hackle sold me an extra size 1 snake guide in the Guide Kit.

I guess I've got an extra for the next rod I build after this one is finished.

Does this seem right now? Sorry for the confusion I caused.
