My casting goes to hell when a large pod approaches or casting to the edge of a daisy chain, I CAN cast better than that! Every edge on my shoes attracts the loose line on the deck.
A close second would be false albacore, although the presentation isnt anywhere as critical here, to strip a clouser or a crease fly through the mayhem of flying bait and birds and have a 12# albie slam it going 35mph gets the heart goin---
i havent caught a permit or sail on fly but they are on my list

Shorthaul,
I am with you on the pods of tarpon, I think anybodies cast will look like an unfolding lawn chair when those silver kings are daisey chained up and cruisin. why is that? when you cast to a pod of tarpon your line finds every thing on the deck to wrap itself around including you. I guess its just the sight of those monsters, you heart starts pumping and you cant see straight.
Permit on the fly, what a rush!!! especially when there is deep water near by.
