Seen in another thread someone mentioning their rough, and callused(sp) hands.
Simple solution is to keep a little pumice stone on your bench, each time you sit down to tie just give your rough spots a quick going over with the stone.

You can find pumice stones in the cosmetic section of your local drug store, probably ask the wife to pick one up for ya if your uncomfortable going to that dept.
