Thanks for the kind words guys.

Bob, I'm certainly glad your grandfather made it through the war.

Though I didn't do a great deal of research to write the chapter - luckily there was a great tv show about the battle - I think my portrayal is fairly accurate.

(The soldiers on both sides did fraternize.)

In a way it's a shame that the battle of Cold Harbor is often overlooked. Some feel that during the battle the tactics of the Civil War went from Napoleonic to the trench warfare of the first World War; so in that sense it's truely historical.
