Thanks for the feedback.. it does give a little more insight on this fly...

Steelhead bumblebee.. makes sense to me.. my son in law thinks the white stripes are suppose to be yellow.. but Im sticking with an off white and/or light grey.

I looked it up as a hairy minnow and found one site selling it with a bucktail wing but not a beard. Also these flies are used with a spinner blade. The gentleman that is looking to have these tied also told us a couple of other things....

the fly I have is a Japanese version with an elongated head .... the American version is tied with barbell eyes and no elongated head..

its suppose to be killer on black perch when it is allowed to bounce on the bottom.. .

Ill keep searching as well...
