Hi MacFly,

The fly looks like a McGinty with missing wing. Here is a copied image and a recipe for one as shown. You can make these with hair wing (squirrel) or winde them with a soft hackle collar instead of tying the beard.

Hooks: Your choice wet fly or salmon size 4 - 10
Thread: Black 8/0 thread (heavier if you do not have 8/0)
Tail: Red Hackle Barbules
Body: Alternating Yellow and Black Chenille
Beard: Brown Hackle Barbules
Wing: White Tipped Mallard Quill.
