Default Welcome all in rubber pants! Purists and Pragmatists!

Hello to everyone!

I should clarify that there's nothing "dirty" about my "rubber pants" reference. Just a humorous title for the waterproof garments we all take better care of than our cars.

Just wanted to introduce myself as the new mod for this topic. While I don't claim to be the most experienced cold-water fisherman out there, I strive to be one of the most knowledgeable. I have worked at three different fly shopsand have fished in ten states.

My biggest influences in the field would be Gary LaFontaine, Ed Humphreys, and Davy Wotton. As you might expect with influences like that, you won't hear me extolling the virtues of the Adams, Cahill, and Royal ____, to be fished only dry and upstream. I would much rather use methods that catch more and bigger fish.

I would like for this topic to be chock full of information which will help beginners become sucessful quickly, and expand the repertoire of us others.

Please feel free to include in your replies to this post any suggestions for the content of this topic.

I'd rather hunt fish than bait deer any day.
