i dont know why people say open loops are vetter for weighted flies i casted tight loops with a 1/0 clouser 60 feet today
The first time you nick your flyrod and break the tip off or bury a Clouser in your shoulder you'll open up your loops.
I've had both happen to me, I now have a special Clouser cast. It involves a lil bit of side arm, open loop, two Hail Mary's and a duck at the end.
