Hi Barry,

Did the same thing to my old 1498. By the way, it continues to function without failure of fault. Of course I don't use it much more except for demos. However, my two 1494s are still active. To each I've added the One-Pfoot feet carried by Len Codella.

I have no doubt that these reels will be around forever. I get a kick when leafing through a magazine or book I run across a picture of some fishing scene and sure enough ... the rod carries an old Pflueger Medalist. No wonder it was carried the Knights of the Crusade as standard equipment.

Ever wonder what stories these old reels could tell? I know that mine could speak with eloquence of fishing Alaska's waters.
