I'm tying a Kennebec Charlie.........a weird little trout and bass fly I tried this summer right after I moved down here. Based on the CRAZY CHARLIE...but with some interesting variation for fresh water fish on the Kennebec River.

Watched a fella fishing in the Solon stretch catching trout and an occasional salmon on it. I got my first surreptiously....when he fouled in a bush. After he left I went and retrieved it from the limb. Was careful to search well in case there were more flies in that bush. Then I tied some of my own and tried it. Great sinking fly in faster water and drops to bottom in slack water.

I named it the KC for the river we were fishing. Looked online and can not find it pictured anywhere. Must have been an original concoction.
