I've used McFly egg foam, it comes out looking nice but a little more buoyant than I like. Chenille is probably my favorite for eggs though as you can put a little bit of weight underneath if you need it, doesn't hold up for long though. I've found the Gamakatsu globug hooks heavy enough I can use chenille and not need any weight most of the time.
