Totally non fishing related , but in the same vein...

A year ago when opening up the pool, I needed to drain the rain water off the cover.
I stuck a hose in and went to start a siphon in the usually way, by sucking on the end.
This was a huge mistake
It seems that a spider had deposited some eggs in there and the silk-like egg cases are apparently extremely toxic. My mouth and throat were immediately on fire! and not like hot pepper hot, this was poison.
I'd never heard of this before, but I won't ever forget it now.
