Default help with cast

so hit the water today for the first time in 2 yrs, and wow does my casting stink. I figured after a bit i would get back to normal, but no, not the case. My leader/tippet/fly falls in a pile on the water. I even snapped off a couple flies, aside from the ones i decorated the tree with.
Im using a cheap shakespeare 8ft 5/6 wt, with SA Concept wf-6-f line (wich work much better than the level line it came with), and a 7.5ft leader. My loops are almost non existent, and have a hard time hitting 25 feet.
I know i need to lawn cast some more, but any ideas on what im doing wrong? Any help is much appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Oh and by the way, the water was way low, and crystal clear. Seen lots of trout, but they weren't interested in anything i threw at them.I was at Trout Run in SE Minnesota.
