Good topic for a post Ard. This is all sound advice whether the purchase come from the big auction site, Craigslist or the classifieds section on your favorite fly fishing forum. One more tip that I'd like to add is make sure that you ask for additional pictures and examine them closely. Make sure they are of the specified item and ask the seller questions about anything that looks suspect. I have found that there are items, not limited to rods, that are not actually in the conditions represented.
