Default Re: Stonefly Nymphs?

My simplest version:

~#12 long heavy hook, 3mm bead head in whatever color.
marabou, squirrel, or hare for tail (remove the leather).
Tie in wire to match the bead.
Wrap dubbing forward 2/3 or hook for abdomen.
Wrap wire forward for segments.
Create dubbbing loop of swishers Generation X dubbing (lots of rubber leggy bits).
Wrap loop forward and tie in behind the bead. Leave room for a dubbing collar.
Finish with a dubbing collar.

Variations.:
Grizzly matuka hackle, genX collar.
GenX hackle, dub collar.
wood duck wings, dub collar.
Thin skin over entire body.
Hot bead, black dub body.
They all seem to work and are fun to tie variations with.

A more complete version has a thin skin back and a wing case.
