Default Re: Fishing new water...do I have the right plan?

You have good questions and have received great feedback.
The Big T. is my go to river because it's close to home. The most active fly this time of year is the midge. Nymph patterns that I use include WD-40's, RS2's, Split Foam backs in black, Rainbow Warrior, and Red Midge larva. Size 18 to 22 work well. I would also have some pheasant tails size 16.
With the warm weather we have had this last week there will be some open water on down the river that will fish well. Just be careful around the ice. Have fun!
