Re: Still water nymphing
When nymphing on still water, I use a foam football indicator large enough to keep the nymph(s) suspended at the desired depth. Then I concentrate on the indicator and fish it like a foam spider or popper for bluegills. Just twitch it once or twice, let it set until rings disipate, then give it a few more twitches.
If I don't catch a fish after awhile, I'll vary the length of pauses, number and agressiveness of the twitches, etc, until the fish tell me what they want.
