Hi Alligator,

This chart will give you an idea of what mono is rated at. The problem is each manufacture may have a little different formula. The best way is to read the information on the package. Most companies list the X rating, the weight and the diameter.

This chart is from this FAQ post. The post also gives a suggested way to determine what size tippet to use for different sizes of flies.
