Re: Grand River.
Check out this article from Fly Fisherman by Ian Martin, Ontario's Grand River, by Ian Martin
(check out the hatch guide). Ian is also the author of the definitive guide to the Grand River, well named "Fly Fishing the Grand River: The angler's vest pocket guide". It is spiral-bound and co-authored with Jane E. Rutherford (Ian's wife). As well Ian wrote a series of articles on The Seasons Of The Grand in The Canadian Fly Fisher last year. Certainly worth getting. There are also several local fly shops with great websites full of info -- check out the First Cast fly shop in Guelph, Hook Line and Sinker & The First Cast Fly Shop - Guelph, Ontario
, and Grand River Troutfitters in Fergus, Grand River Troutfitters - Ontario's Fly fishing guiding and instruction store
. Hope that helps.

"Fly fishing is solitary, contemplative, misanthropic, scientific in some hands, poetic in others, and laced with aesthetic considerations. It's not even clear if catching fish is actually the point." -John Gierach
