You can search the forum for 'ultralight' and see what some are using.

I have a 6' 2 wt rod that I use on small-to-medium steams. It's a lot of fun and handles 12"-15" trout with no problem. The rod is a really soft 2 wt. It measures out at about 1.1 using the common cents system.
