You have absolutely distilled the essence of P&S here. Dean is spot on. Don't think too much. Let your instincts for light and composition point the thing and then just shoot. And shoot and shoot and shoot. Some surprising results regularly seem to crop up.
And speaking of crop
, don't compose too tight. In these days of +12MP sensors, you can always frame how you want it in "post.
" Good photo editing software is an essential accessory for the P&S.
