Even though I've never kept Trout or any other Fish for that matter many years ago two Deceased Senior Members decided to keep some Brookies & some Rainbows in a Tank.
One kept Rainbows the other kept Brookies,initially they didn'y have any problems then when they started to grow & because The Tanks were always full & had a constant stream of water,in & out they lost some to Cats,also they would Rise & The owners would find them on The Cement Pads,so they put Mesh Guards on The Tanks.
One ended up with one Brookie they other had Three Rainbows,all of them outgrew The Tanks,The Happy ending they were released into The Local Creek.
Also at One of Our Hatcheries in The Snowy Mountains they keep Rainbows,Browns & Brookies in Glass Tanks.
