There are quite a few options but I would look down on the Arkansas River along highway 50 from Canon City to Salida. The caddis hatch should be started or at least in Canon City in early April. Standard Caddis patterns will work but the evenings can be amazing casting hot butts and spent caddis. Bring a few Blue Wing Olives in case the weather is poor, as they will be out in large numbers if the caddis are down due to cooler river temps or late snow storms.
The hatch usually starts in Canon City and works its way up river to Salida as the temperatures in the river rise. If you can find a spot just ahead of the predominant hatch you may not want to leave, ever!
