I don't remember when Cortland bought Diamondback, but I do remember that they closed the Vermont facility and moved production overseas around the end of 2006..... before driving the Diamondback line completely into the ground

I remember Cortland having a big "fire-sale" on their web-site.
It was quality stuff and it went fast.
Your rods could well be close-outs from that time.
