It could twist during the cast, big Wulffs and split wings, even little spent tricos have a tendency to do the same unless you use a heavier tippet. Maybe a thinner foam and slimmer wing profile. That said I would short cast it mend the nuts off for a down stream drift and skate.

I tied some flymphs, now some Swymphs.

Tied on TMC 2488H #12, I get the body of a 14/16ish sized fly but still have a good gap and a heavier hook to keep it tracking right when they swing out.
