Default a few surface water pics of Clear Creek Slayer...

here are a few pics of the actual tied flies on the waters surface...its too cold to try and geta trouts actual view...but this gives an idea of the avtual pattern and it realism or lack thereof...

the convex dimples really are what I like...especially from the antennae...

also how the hackle really keeps the bug up off the water...similar like a dead or crippled caddis would look moving downstream...as adults these bugs dont swim, just like stone flys...only flounder. or just float until really disrupted...

for what its worth...pics like this give me confidence...which I think is a real asset when fishing slick fish...

this is a pic of the tie w/ a foam body under the body...and no Elk or Deer veil...

this is the bug with the Deer or Elk veil...better for a bit more moving or turbulent waters...where maybe the drift starts out in a riffle then ends up in a pocket or slick spot...

here are the tied bugs again...
