I remember on numerous occasions cleaning fish with Dad. We'd open up the gut to see what they were eating. They loved the cased caddis larva. These ones were really dark brown to black, made from little bits of wood and bark. We'd pull them out of their shells and they'd still be alive. I know the trout eat them. Not sure how to fish them though.
