The voice of experience there.... dabblers are tricky things to learn, and you have to tie them until it clicks for you. One trick that really helped me was to use a little bit of wax to spin the BM, and I can highly recommend Lawrence Finney's video

If you struggle learning wet flies, get his DVD - outstanding instruction. Dabblers can get very addictive to tie, and they are great caddis or green drake/brown drake wets for the Rocky mountain west
Watched the Red arse Dabble being tied. Not as nice as Stuart's but serviceable. Very cool techniques with the mallard wing /hackle. Reminiscent of spinning deer hair but obviously trickier. Great little insight there thanks for the link.
