JP,

There are no flowers here yet but it is staying daylight until 9:40 at night. Sun is lighting the land by 5:30 AM pretty well so we are on the downside of winter for sure.

I had thought I might go to the Kenai River today (friday April 5) but the morning was cold and I was not willing to bet on a warm day. The river is a 300 mile round trip from home and I will save my gas for a little more mild day. Here at home we got up to 38* but things stayed crunchy even then. By 6:00 PM all was frozen up again so I may have made a good call.

The last time I fished in sub freezing temps I snapped the butt of the rod I was casting and that memory is still fresh.
