An expensive reel is most definitely NOT necessary for largemouth as they very rarely make runs or take out line. Especially with a heavier rod, it will be unlikely that you ever make use of your reels drag. My advice would be to get a cheap option around $50. In this price range, you can get decent quality construction, and that's about all you need as you will just be using it to hold your line.

I primarily fish for LMB and I've maybe had a grand total of 5 fish utilize my drag.
