Default Re: A Book And Its Cover... Reconsidered...

An update on the events of the last week or so... As things currently stand, the man who was the "jumping-off point" for this thread, and his family-- WIFE and sons --now have many good years ahead of them. Thanks to "Doc," the younger-- my chief oncologist and daughter of my former specialist/now valued fishing cronie --the breast cancer has been neutralized and removed, and after a few treatments, the man's wife should be right as rain again. And, that, my friends, is very good news, especially for this aging cancer survivor...

"Doc," the younger, again worked her own rendition of her father's "magic," in applying his bulldog sort of mentality and tenaciousness to put back into play that feeling of "hope" that we who've faced the cancer demons all strive to realize. And, as usual, she did it in spades!!

So, come the first turning of colors later this Fall, me and mine will have "visitors" to our little place on the river, as I've invited the man, his wife and his sons to come north for a little Fall fishing. And, if it all works as planned, the lot of us will make the trek over to "Trail's End" toward evening, a place where the hilltop porch allows one a grand venue to take in the overview of the "river's-edge" woodlands.

You see... "Trail's End" is one of those rare places that has inspired no shortage of creativity, both on-stream and off. I'm hoping that it will prompt a continuing "authorship" of sorts in the man's own personal journaling of a life spent astream with his sons, and in the best of ways...
