I checked the Solar Flare activity cycles and see that the max which was supposed to occur this year seems to have hit early - 2011 and 2012. We should be heading into the decline now according to NASA predictions (assuming the peak is not late). The solar activity is supposed to contiinue to drop until around 2023 or 24.

I think we are in for some serious cooling off in the next decade and a half. That'll be a welcome relief , especially for the trout and salmon - just so long as it doesn't make it all the way down to the Keys.
