I like Orvis stuff too. But only because of quality and only certain items. For sure not for a status symbol. I also have a 65 dollar Redington CT that has a high place in my heart. I like that one so much I got another.

I prefer American only because of a nod to an American job. Honestly, I haven't heard of a trout yet you had to catch with an American rod because it refused to be caught with one from China or Korea. But I don't get around that much.
