Sorry for the long delay in answering, Streamhound! I haven't been on here in a while, to tell the truth had forgotten about the post I made, and was just now Googling "monster bluegill" and ended up in the thread again.

I am in Columbia, forty miles south of Nashville. Since my last post, an 11" coppernose that a prominent outdoor writer estimated to have weighed 1-12 or better, a pure northern-strain bluegill that likely would've pushed two pounds, and several northern-strain and coppernose in the 20-24-oz. range have come from the ponds I guide on; and I caught a hybrid this past summer that weighed right at two pounds.
