Good article & lesson. Should also be noted that any species intended to be released should be handled with the same care, even though some are more hardy than others.

I remember as a kid catching Bluegills & Pumpkinseeds in the creek near where I grew up. I know I caught some of those fish several times, over & over, and even not really knowing much about proper release techniques they still survived.

Respect the resource, no matter what that may be!
