Simple solution ? Make a photo copy of your fishing license and ID, get them laminated, and keep them in your vest, pack, fly box, hat, or what ever you always have with you when you fish. In most places, that will work 'til you can get to the original. It's still better to have the original on you, but backup never hurts.
