The Parsons Glory
Original tie by Phil Parsons
Tail- golden pheasant tippits
Body- Yellow mohair or wool
Wing- well marked honey grizzey (you can use dyed sub but it is not as good)
Throat- honey grizzey
Topping- golden pheasant topping
Cheeks- jungle cock
This is the most popular fly and one of the oldest of this style if compared to a fingerling trout it is very similar in colour (with good honey grizzey), In sizes 1/0, #2 it is used as a salmon/Rainbow fly and in the smaller sizes a genral fly #10 being the most popular.
The tie that is in use today is the same but with the dyed sub for honey grizzey, no tail, topping, or cheeks (if the tail is included it is red or orange) and yellow chenille.
