This fly was the design of Lou Brunton for the selwyn mouth and is part of a serries of smelt flies tyed by Brunton (this was tyed for the swap).

This fly was created by a few men at the pub one night when they harvested some hair off a spanniel and decided too make a fly from it this is a very good night fly (from the 1930s) and is still widely used today, the dog hair can be subistuted with squirrel tail but I have found possum tail too be the best (this one is tied as a little somthing extra for the swap
)
