Landing the big one video

don't know how to embed it, but it's of my last minute or so connected to a 20+ pound atlantic salmon: fall 2012 006 - YouTube

The whole story is on my blog. Way too long and photo intense for me to post here.

Just read the blog Gary, looks like a great time! I'd love to be able to get up there at some point, once I find a cure to this broke graduate student sickness...

The average for my program is ~8 years. I'm not even halfway there. But the steelhead run always acts as a nice balm :D

Yikes, that's quite a program! I got an MS and PhD in 5 (normal time for it). Good about that balm, though, eh?

Re: Landing the big one video

No, Dave, the Orange Sneaky was developed by a fellow named Mike Boudreau in one of the Canadian Maritime provinces in the mid-1990's, specifically for low, slow water conditions. It was incredibly effective a couple autumns ago in similar conditions, so I figured, "why not?".

She sure was a beautiful fish!

Gary: Congrats on a great fish! It has been quite sometime since I landed a fish of that size, brings back some great memories (Alaska days).
