Default Mayaguana

Hello,

Returned from a week of fly fishing in Mayaguana, Bahamas. No guides, no crowds, no tackle or bait shops. My kind of fishing destination!

We saw many bones averaging 4-6 lbs and I did hook and land a 10+ lbs bone.

I also had a shot at a LARGE pemit without success.

Any suggestions on similar, remote bonefish/permit/tarpon destinations?

Thanks all!

Barry

Hi

Bonefish41 does self guided trips to the Bahama's. Here is a link to a thread about one of his trips. You might want to look at his post for more information.

Hi!
Remote and off the beaten path is the way to go!
A friend of mine runs this operation:Bonefishbonefish - Do it yourself Bonefishing on Abaco in the Bahamas. on Abaco.
I've been there several times. And each stay has made me come back for more! The fishing is fantastic. And there's very few other fishermen on the flats/creeks we usually fish. I'd say chances of catching a trophy bone is exeptionally good. I also believe it to be about the cheapest all-inc you'll find in the Bahamas. They only charge 1200/week for room, food, drinks, kayaks, flytying and some fishing gear(heavy spinning).
I'm going back there in November to catch some more Bones!!
