Just got back from a little trip to Abaco.
The fishing, and the stay was as usual; Better than great!
You never get tired of seeing large tailing bones on the flats.. Catching them is challenging, but far from impossible. Especially in the areas that rarely gets fished, the fish seem a little more forgiving.
My friend Jonas, whoŽd only been Bonefishing once before caught five on his first day in Abaco! Largest about eight pound plus..
HereŽs a picture of him landing the trips first bone:
We lost a few days to poor weather, but that gave us time to re-fill our flyboxes
and get if possible evem more fired up about bonefishing..
After eight days of fishing we counted 43 fish between us.
With the four best fish being between 28 and 29.5 inches. And the average fish being about 5 lbs we are sooo going back there next year.
Hopefully to catch that monster that took off with 250yds of backing before cutting the tippet on moonrocks.. They have some sick Bonefish on that island..
And some pretty silly looking Puffers
