The past two days have been good with a 28 pound salmon caught on Monday followed by a 40 on Tuesday so I figured to go 3 for 3. You are only allowed 5 king salmon annually in Alaska and only one may be harvested on

It didn't take long before I spotted a wake and realized there were a bunch in the head of the pool. I cast for 2 hours and 55 minutes with the Skykomish that is tied to my line in this picture.

Ive decided to write in larger text to see how I like the look of it. It has been an interesting time for the past seven days here. I have fished six of the seven and was off for a day while I broke a camp and changed rivers. My first camp and river afforded beautiful scenery and good weather.

The day I caught a really nice fish but had no camera with me there were two people who took pictures for me with cell phones. One of these is posted to a fishing story here on the blog, the other I never mentioned because I didn't receive the picture until I checked mail today The kind lady who took this had a digital SLR with her but had forgotten to bring the batteries however her phone was considerably more advanced than the gentleman who took the original shot for me. In her e-mail accompanying...

On Wednesday the 13th of July I took a ride on my favorite river looking for some sockeye salmon. I knew there would be some chum in and maybe even a few late kings that might take a fly so with a beautiful sunny day coming about I was on the water at 10:00 AM. I knew where I was headed because the fish take the same route every year and seem to hold in the same spots.
