Now I have 59 years to reflect upon and almost 54 of them I can remember in the outdoors.

My father started me out as a child trekking the mountains of a then very different North Central Pennsylvania. I was drawn to the tiny streams we would cross as we made our way back then...

I have received some messages from a member who was so moved by the videos in my last entry that he had to contact me and share his thoughts.

This entry is just a little more in an effort to explain how my life has been, what made me who I am and the kind of experiences that guided my path and always will.

In the late 1977 I discovered the music, the music and the words that would become the sound track for the next 12 years of my life. Prior to 77' I was entertained...

More About Streamer Fishing; Part 2

Posted 01-05-2014 at 11:55 PM by Hardyreels

Wyoming Fly Fishing with Muzzy

Posted 07-05-2014 at 11:19 AM by mcnerney

Last year after reading about Muzzy's "Kung Fu Sabbatical 13" I contacted him and told him I would like to fish with him on his way through Wyoming and we ended up fishing three days together and had a great time. He ended up taking seven months off and touring the Rockies and western U.S. camping and fly fishing.........something we all have dreamed about at one time or another, but hard to pull off due to work/family responsibilities.
For those of you that haven't read Muzzy's...

What I've Learned About being A Guide;

Posted 10-12-2014 at 05:40 PM by Hardyreels

I see the occasional thread on the forum started by someone who is eager to get into the guide thing. I don't reply on the open forum because my experiences may not be mainstream with the lower 48.

How I got into this may surprise you, there were 2 influences on the decision. First came many people who suggested that I should write a book about fishing. Seriously, there were many people who read threads and stories in this blog that said "if you write one I'll buy one"....
