If you're going to take a trip here you might as well make a go of it. We left Chitna and passed Glenallen to turn left at Paxton onto the denali Highway. I'll just post up some pictures and caption them.

A Rough Year for Finding Waldo

We have been fishing the same area for a few days now and yesterday were gifted with some fantastic weather conditions ranging from warm sun to a rather furious storm. I managed to travel ahead of the storms save for a tremendous blow on the big river. When facing sustained and gusting a head wind that whipped the river into 1.5 - 2 foot chop I was able to run back branches with plenty of trees lining the banks and so able to dodge most of the bad stuff. Why are Salmon Flies so Gaudy in Color?

That was a question posted to the thread I ran in the Alaska forum threads about Pattern Productivity. When I tried to answer the question my post turned out to be a little long winded so I have copied it to here. Fishing Streamers in Less Than Perfect Conditions;

Recently we have had some threads where members are querying streamer fishing. With all the people out there floating Indi Rigs and dropping nymphs from a big dry I still believe that to be a successful streamer fisherman is The Holy Grail of the fly fisher. I must include being a master on the dry fly to the Holy Grail club also.
