Sometimes I don't know where to start a story and this time I'll just pick a spot and hope it all ties together.

It's been about 4 or 5 weeks now but I was on a moose hunt for a week. I was the guy who put up the came and picked its location and we were on a river. It seems that you're always on a river here and this was just another camp on another island. It was on the next to the last day that we had returned to camp for a late lunch and had no clue where we would spend the evening....

Hairwing Tying Tip

Posted 09-26-2016 at 06:19 AM by flytire

a loop of thread alone around a bundle of hair is not enough to keep the hair from rolling to the far side of the hook. the hair must be held firmly while subsequent wraps of thread are used to hold the hair in place. without holding the hair, thread torque will roll it all over the place

When we arrived at Hewitt Lake we found the water high, I don't mean a little high I mean higher than its ever been while I was actually there. My 4 Wheeler access road to the shoreline was under water...

Posted 06-27-2016 at 07:24 PM by flytire

Years ago in the New England area, there was the World Fly Fishing Expo that was held at the Shriner's Auditorium Wilmington, Massachusetts. It was a show similar to the Fly Fishing Show but a little smaller but just as good if not better (I think it was better than the national show). It promoted all of the latest and greatest the fly fishing industry had to offer. It also showcased some of the best New England area fly tyers.
