Fly Fishing Western Wyoming, June 2013

Posted 05-28-2014 at 05:32 PM by mcnerney

Wyoming Fly Fishing, June 2013

Posted 05-28-2014 at 05:27 PM by mcnerney

Well the winds have finally subsided, I thought I was living in a wind tunnel for the past couple of days. Yesterday I did a float on one of the local rivers. I had no real idea of the float distance (upwards of 10 miles or more), so just to be safe I decided to leave the house by 5:30 and get on the water early in case those heavy winds come roaring back in the afternoon.

Wind River Mtns Fishing Trip

Posted 05-28-2014 at 05:13 PM by mcnerney

This past month (July 2012) I have been taking horse back riding lessons mainly to go riding with my girlfriend and hopefully get into some of the remote high country lakes north of town. The Wind River range is just loaded with remote lakes that I want to explore. Dexter, the guy that I'm taking lessons from offered to take me up into the Wind River Mtns to fish for Goldens and I jumped on the opportunity. The plan was to take his grandson (Shawn) and his best friend (David) and myself with...

We do our best to protect their homes...but why? Why do I care?

I'd become hooked on fly fishing long before, as a child, probably by reading some issue of Outdoor Life my Dad had subscribed to for my sake, but in those days the focus...

You may decide otherwise.
I set up a jig and had a great time building leaders this winter. Not that hard, just followed some sites and articles. Now we will see how they work in...
