Pt. 2 - Each Winter Is Different Things Are Changing.

It's been three years now since I got serious about handling my own freight needs. In part this was driven by fuel expenses which drove the cost of having someone haul heavy loads for you up to 32 cents a pound. That's 320.00 per thousand pounds........... So I bought into a sled build, this is kinda like a kickstarter thing. I put up the seed money which bought the materials for 2 sleds. I got my sled for the seed money invested and the second sled sold for 2300.00 so I got the deal.

Finally Got Something Done ..........

I do wish that I had some pictures of the cabin when it was a log shell. No windows, no insulation, just a stack of spruce logs surrounded by trees and Devils Club that you could hardly see from out on the lake.

I don't but just over the past 4 weeks I finally did something about a pile of 4 X 8 sheets of sanded plywood that I've been avoiding for about 3 years now. I just got tired of walking around them piled in front of the west windows I guess. So...... I ran some wiring and...

Saw A Thread Asking About Tying Leaders;

Often I see a thread asking a question and as I read replies I find that what I may want to say will be pointless. The answers come complete with internet links that will solve the needs almost instantly while my reply will simply get buried and forgotten. That's when I stop writing and move whatever I was about to post here to this blog area. It may not be read by the majority of users here but I have the peace of mind knowing I can always find these old memories. Who knows, to some these things...

Netting Fish

In concept the use of a net to capture a fish already hooked by a fly is supposed to make the final stage of catching that fish easier. In my many years of fly fishing and I can now get away with saying many at this point so I have.

Old Rods

Howdy All

I see most post's lately be on Rods me I have had many and still do..I started with a split cane and shortly after ended up with a Fiberglass.
Nowadays I lean toward my Graphite but still use my first Fiberglass an old Eagle Claw man that rod will shoot line out I have found that the graphite rods I have will put just as much line out and maybe a bit more but still enjoy using both.

Back to the old split Cane Rod my grandpa used to make them...
