Ive decided to write in larger text to see how I like the look of it. It has been an interesting time for the past seven days here. I have fished six of the seven and was off for a day while I broke a camp and changed rivers. My first camp and river afforded beautiful scenery and good weather.

Another Day Another Chance

On another morning I found myself sitting in the boat at 4:10 AM watching another bottleneck that feed into another huge pool. The regulations prohibit fishing for salmon between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM so I had elected to spend a couple hours looking for fish. It didn't take long before I spotted a wake and realized there were a bunch in the head of the pool. I cast for 2 hours and 55 minutes with the Skykomish that is tied to my line in this picture.

I hope this is the end of it for this year.

I have no picture but I think you'll get the idea. I went fishing today June 15, 2011 even though it was raining when I left for the river at 4:30 AM. It was also only 40 degrees down on the water and the rain was a cold one. The past two days have been good with a 28 pound salmon caught on Monday followed by a 40 on Tuesday so I figured to go 3 for 3. You are only allowed 5 king salmon annually in Alaska and only one may be harvested on

Off To See The Wizard (ie..Tarpon)

4hrs and I'm outta here!! Off to the sunshine state for some warm weather and chasing Tarpon across the flats of Key Largo!! I've really been looking forward to this years trip thanks to our hard winter and very winter like spring. Stay tuned to see how it goes, taking the laptop with me so I'll checking in while I'm down there.

Tarpon Time Again!!

Once again it is time for my annual trek to the Keys to chase Silver!! Just ordered a bunch of materials for tying up Double Bunnies and had them shipped to Key Largo. Also order some EP black tailed finger mullet flies as well. Maybe next year I'll sit down at the vise and figure out how to tie my own!!

Talked with Dad last week and he said there are plenty of Tarpon around. Most were still headed south and will until the worm hatch is over. They tend to focus on that hatch and...
