Wind River Mtns Fishing Trip

Posted 05-28-2014 at 05:13 PM by mcnerney

This past month (July 2012) I have been taking horse back riding lessons mainly to go riding with my girlfriend and hopefully get into some of the remote high country lakes north of town. The Wind River range is just loaded with remote lakes that I want to explore. Dexter, the guy that I'm taking lessons from offered to take me up into the Wind River Mtns to fish for Goldens and I jumped on the opportunity. The plan was to take his grandson (Shawn) and his best friend (David) and myself with...

Memorial Day

Posted 05-27-2014 at 08:49 AM by mridenour

I know that the Memorial Day holiday is traditionally focused on our military and rightfully so. The men that have died in service of our country deserve a special place in our hearts and lives. My favorite book says that the act of laying down one's life for his friends is the greatest act of love. I don't think many would disagree.

Regardless of how I personally feel about any this war or that war or the next war, the fact that there are people in this country willing to risk...

Posted 05-21-2014 at 03:03 PM by mridenour

It takes a while to mow three acres, especially when using the not so reliable Frankenmower. My mower is mostly made up of cast-offs found on Craigslist and junkpiles. I bought a new one a couple of times but have found that my hilly terrain is better suited for an overpowered monstrosity with knobby ATV tires on the rear.

So I ran...

A Cold Front, A Warm Heart

Posted 05-14-2014 at 12:06 PM by mridenour

Well, a cold front has stormed through the area and yesterday the temps were only in the 50's. It was really humid though and the skies were overcast and gloomy. The weekend was over and I went back to work on Monday to get some rest. There wasn't a lot of resting done there but at least I wasn't driving all over three or four counties.

Tuesday was a long day and I didn't think I would have time to fish before my regular Tuesday evening appointment since I was bringing some freshly...
